In December 2009, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 64/134 proclaiming the year commencing 12 August 2010 as the International Year of Youth.
The resolution calls upon governments, civil society, media, corporate organizations, individuals and communities worldwide to support activities at local and international levels to mark the event.

Following the four main objectives of AYUDH (green initiatives, social service, personal development and intercultural exchange) there will be a variety of youth initivatives launched during the year, in which all youth are welcome to participate.
