We are very happy to invite you to the 10th Anniversary European AYUDH Youth Initiative “Awareness in Action!” taking place from 13th – 20th July 2014 at M.A. Center Germany, near Frankfurt.

250 youth from 20 countries are expected to take part in the biggest AYUDH event to date, celebrating ten years of youth empowerment and intercultural exchange in Europe.

The summit is led by Br. Shubamrita (India) and Bri. Dipamrita (France).

The general theme of the initiative is health in our body, mind, social networks and the ecosystem of our planet.

Our approach for this is: awareness. Each one of our actions has a consequence - for ourselves, for others, for the planet. Awareness is the starting point from which we choose what we buy and eat, think and say, accept or reject.

A large variety of workshops will invite the youth to raise their level of awareness and achieve a healthier lifestyle:  Archery, Kung-Fu, Acting, Permaculture, Photography, Artwork, Dance, Singing, Harp-playing, Personal Development through interacting with horses, Sensitive Living, Tai-Chi, Meditation, Yoga, InDeed Sustainability Campaign.

AYUDH members across Europe have identified five categories and ten topics, which they feel deserve more attention in European society. Each country group can choose one of these topics and develop a concrete action plan, which can later be implemented in their home country. For this there will be working groups throughout the summit, supported by a professional from each respective field.

One of the highlights of the week will be a trip to Strasbourg, where we will visit the EU-Parliament and do a flashmob in the city centre.

Apart from that there will be a sports tournament, a lipdub video-shoot, a large permaculture project, singing, games, a talent show and a big summer festival to conclude the week.

Jani Toivola, Member of Parliament from Finland, will also be present throughout the summit. In talks and workshops he will share his experience on how to make a positive impact in society through politics and art. Drawing on his previous experience in performing arts, Jani will also direct a lip-dub music video clip shooting for a new song by AYUDH.

To kick-start the initiative we have launched a poster-design contest. Submit up to three cool poster designs using the template provided here (link) and win a €200 travel voucher to any destination of your choice. Poster submissions can be made until 12th July and the winner will be chosen during the AYUDH summit at M.A. Center. Preview the poster submissions here . To take part in the contest, download the instructions and template here.

The initiative is co-funded by the "Youth in Action" programme of the European Commission for Education and Culture, which allows us to refund 70% of the travel cost for a limited number of youth coming from: Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia, Switzerland, Finland, Austria, Denmark and for the first time Greece.
